For me the creative work of spiritual creation is fun and exciting. The flow that comes from brainstorming or an ah ha moment is like finding flecks of gold in my pan. The more challenging part for me is translating those ideas into physical creation. Yet I know that is where the nuggets of gold are found.
I am a habitual note taker and sketcher. My favorite journal is a Moleskine Sketch Book and rarely am I found without it in hand. Sometimes I refer to it as my pain journal where I work out my questions. Other times my gratitude journal where I write or sketch a celebration of life. But most it is my idea journal, where I record my thoughts on books I read or lectures I attend. It is my book of spiritual creation.
Two years ago this is where I first noted the question if I like the three wise men could follow the star. The question came from a sermon given that simply asked the question; “if you continue on your current path will the blessings of heaven be realized in your future?” I had a good job and was happy but I knew the answer was no.
That question and the ensuing notations in my journal took me on a whirlwind adventure over the last two years that put my life in alignment. Today I can honestly say without hesitation that I could follow the star. This was the physical creation and I am so happy I did both.
