One of the lessons of the Wise Men is the Lesson of Immediately. I have heard it said many times that it is not the right time to discuss or do this or that. I would like to change that notion and say now is always the right time to discuss our freedoms and those that gave their life protecting our freedoms.
Both of my grandfathers served in World War II. My paternal grandfather and grandmother eloped and were married on December 11, 1941 knowing that he would be drafted into service. This one event changed their lives and the lives of a couple of generations. Unfortunately most of that generation has now passed on and it is our responsibility to remember and pass it on.
My grandfather served in the Navy in a PT Boat Squadron. The above is a toy I made with my son a couple of years ago to discuss his dedication and service.
Today as we remember Pearl Harbor let’s also remember that it is always a good time to share our love of freedom.
